This maternity session at the Superstition Mountains may be one of my favorites of all time. Not only was the location an absolute dream but so was the couple 😍 Eek! I’m so excited to share the next images!!

When Kelsey reached out to tell me they were expecting twin girls I got so excited. I just felt so excited to be the one she chose to capture such a special time in their lives, from pregnancy to the newborn session. I was then double excited when she told me they were wanting to do their maternity session at the Superstition Mountains. Those mountains just scream “ARIZONA!!” to me more than so many other locations in the valley.

Superstition Mountain Maternity Session

We woke up that morning to only have rain on and off throughout the day. I won’t lie, I got super nervous that we would have to cancel! While we were both grateful that the rain had cooled the desert we were also crossing our fingers to tight that the rain would stop. Guess what? It did! I did a little happy dancel

I love shooting at the Superstitions but find that it is typically better to shoot here closer to sunset, especially when it is a sunny day. Those cliffs can get some strong direct sun. Lucky for us the clouds made for some amazing lighting, though! I was geeking out the whole shoot and when I got home and saw what I had captured, my heart felt full.

I also loved the dress Kelsey chose! She got it from Free People. I always recommend a flowy, long dress for maternity shoots. I love how it falls on the baby belly and the motion we can get from it!
