Being a Mesa area family photographer is great for so many reasons- including all of the amazing locations nearby. Today I am excited to share some of my favorite images from my fall minis near the Salt River. I love the Salt River area so much! It is truly beautiful.
Salt River Family Photos
Just east of Mesa is the amazing Salt River. It takes about 20 minutes or so from east Mesa to make the drive, which is really great for a lot of families. There are many great locations to shoot along it! I love shooting at Water User’s Recreation Site as well as Phon D Sutton.
One thing to keep in mind about the Salt River is that it’s levels can really vary depending on the season. From about April to October each year the river is very full, which can make portrait photography a little harder as not as many spots are easily accessible! However, there are great desert locations along the way, too. You can read more here about levels.
Today’s photos were taken at a desert location near Phon D Sutton Recreation Site. I love how easy it is to park here and walk with families to some amazing spots. Also, I have to say that I LOVE the light created by the setting sun here. It absolutely glows!
I am so grateful to all of the wonderful families that came out for these minis. It was actually super hot that day (despite it being in November) but they all had a great attitude. We had such a great time and although our time was short- and sweet- I feel like I was able to grab some great images in just 20 minutes.
