One of my favorite place to shoot as a Salt Lake family photographer is at the Great Saltair. Sitting on the banks of the Great Salt Lake, this amazing building and salty beaches make for the perfect backdrop for photos! Today I’m excited to share some photos from my session with the Hughes family.

Family Pictures at the Saltair

If you’re looking for a great location, I highly recommend the Saltair for family pictures. I love how parking is nearby and how easily accessible it is for families. We started this session by taking some quick family and individual shots by the white building and then moved to the salty beach.

I love what the Hughes family wore for their photos. Carlie did such an amazing job coordinating all of the outfits! Blues and neutrals always look so classic together. I always encourage my clients to stick to neutral tones as they help keep the focus on you! Bright colors are fun but can be a little bit more distracting in photos. Plus, with family photos, there are usually many people and having a simple color palette is always a great idea.

This family is so sweet and I was so grateful I got to capture them! The kids cooperated so well and we had a great time. Chad and Carlie have hearts of gold, too. Carlie mentioned that this was the first time they’ve done photos in a while and I felt so honored she asked me to capture their family! I love how the photos turned out.
