Is it just me or was any one else a little anxious about how Halloween would go this year? I am normally a super fan of holidays and I was so worried that this year we wouldn’t be able to celebrate or have any sense of normalcy for Halloween…luckily we were able to celebrate Halloween a little this year, mostly thanks to my mom who planned an amazing family party while we were up in Utah.

The past few months Ava has been OBSESSED with Moana. It has died down a little bit the last few weeks but for a while there we were either watching it, listening to the music from it, playing with her Moana doll, or pulling out all the Moana figurines and naming them one by one. She just loves everything Moana and while it can be a bit overwhelming I am somewhat glad she has chosen such an amazing Disney “princess” to love…I mean, Moana is the bomb. Because of her love for Moana, I felt like I had no other choice but to let her dress up as Moana for Halloween! That left me to decide what I and my husband Ryan should dress up. He shot down many of my ideas but we settled on him being Maui (wearing my Dad’s old, oversized Hawaiian shirt 😂, at least he did have Maui’s hook) and I dressed up as Te Fiti, the island who turns green at the end.

My mom did such a great job planning our Halloween party. She had nearly every door in her house decorated and gave the kids each a goody bag. They then went door to door and “trick or treated”. Inside the door was an adult with a carnival game ready and some candy. On top of that, she made a very spooky Halloween dinner of spaghetti (brains and blood) and meatballs (eyeballs) with some amazing treats.

I am so glad that despite the pandemic we’re in right now that we were able to have some Halloween fun! Here are some fun pictures from our festivities!

xoxo
