Today I’m excited to share some of our Maui family pictures! We had such a great trip to both Oahu and Maui a couple of weeks ago. Of course I had to make sure we got some good pictures of our family while we were there! Thankfully I have a husband who indulges me. I am so grateful he is always so willing to get dressed nice, play, and capture memories.
Maui Family Pictures
I was able to scout out a few different beach locations while we were in Maui but ultimately chose take our photos at the beach of our resort. We stayed at the Westin Nanea Villas in Ka’anapali. The sand was a beautiful brown color and the ocean was almost turquoise. It was already such a nice spot and I liked that we wouldn’t have to worry about driving, parking etc.
We chose to take pictures on the first night we arrived in Maui and it was lightly raining when we got outside. We decided to just go for it and I loved how the lighting turned out. My parents asked for a reshoot and so that’s why you’ll notice the lighting is very different in their images.
Choosing what to wear for family pictures can be very stressful, even for me. However, I was very happy with the color scheme I chose for our family photos. Leaning into neutrals and soft colors always turns out great. I got my dress at Baltic Born Clothing and got Ava’s dress a few months ago at Old Navy. Both of those stores are great for finding cute dresses!
Moana Photoshoot
While in Maui, we couldn’t help but have our own little Moana photoshoot. I absolutely loved being able to capture my sweet Ava on the beach! Her favorite Disney character has been Moana for a long time now. I was so excited to bring a long her Moana costume (from Halloween last year) and get some shots of her. My husband and I will cherish those photos forever. Ava is our strong, loving, and loyal little girl. Couldn’t think of a better role model than Moana.
Arizona Family Photographer
While a part of me wishes I could do photography in Maui full time, I currently am an Arizona based family photographer. I love capturing families and children. I would be thrilled to work with you! You can click here to read more about my packages and send me an inquiry here.
