One of the most popular places for me to shoot as a Phoenix wedding photographer is at the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert. After Maren and Stewart’s sealing at the Gilbert LDS temple we had a little time before the luncheon. Since the Riparian Preserve was just across the street from where the luncheon was being held, we made a quick stop for some bride and groom portraits.
The Riparian Preserve is always a client favorite as it offers easy walking trails, water, trees, and an amazing saguaro patch. I often recommend shooting here, especially in the winter and spring months. I love how the backdrop of the Riparian gave such a great touch to Maren and Stewart’s wedding photos. Not only did they get the classic Arizona look with the saguaro patch, but they also got a more classic look with the large trees and walking paths.

Why have a formal session?
I always recommend to my brides to have a session in their wedding attire outside of their wedding day to capture them and their grooms (I often call these “formal sessions”) Why? Because your wedding day can get so HECTIC! While I typically like doing a session on a separate day, this session fit in just great with their wedding day schedule. We were able to break away from the whole group and had more time to capture them in a less stressful environment!
Maren’s wedding details came together so great! She had Petals and Prints do her florals (they were amazing) and her dress was from Bhldn. I loved the shoes that she chose to go with her dress, they were perfection!
