As an Arizona based photographer I always love exploring new places that I can take my new clients to. I am always surprised by how many clients ask for something different than a desert backdrop when we live in such a vast desert! However, the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix offers the best of the desert with so many beautiful cacti and desert plants and I think offers more green to the backdrop than many other locations in the Phoenix area.

Is a photography permit required for the Desert Botanical Garden?

Thankfully, the answer to this is no! The only fee you will have to pay is the entrance fee 🙌 The gardens even have community days (I believe on the second Tuesday of every month) and those days the entrance fees are waived! So if you’re not wanting to pay the entrance fee you can always come check out the garden on those days (although right now with Covid restrictions, you must reserve a ticket online before coming).

Is the Desert Botanical Garden kid friendly?

Yes! The garden is absolutely kid friendly! My daughter loves walking up and down the various trails, the water features, and we always make a stop at the butterfly pavilion. The garden is quite large though, so I would recommend bringing a stroller/wagon, some snacks, and of course some SPF (we do live in Arizona, after all 😂)

I am so glad we decided to get out of the house and spend some time out in the great outdoors…it always seems like summer arrives too quickly here, so we have been trying to take full advantage of the absolutely beautiful Phoenix weather!

How can I book a session at Desert Botanical Garden?

If you love the Garden just as much as I do, please click on the “Contact”tab above and send me an inquiry! I would absolutely love to work with you!

xoxo
